More Heat Than Light
Sam’s contribution to our Collaborate Series competition takes a bold leap into the unconventional, exploring the artistic possibilities of thermography. Using thermal imaging to capture heat signatures, Sam transformed his subjects into vibrant, otherworldly silhouettes. The resulting portraits glow with striking hues of red, yellow, and violet, creating a visual experience that feels both scientific and surreal. This series, titled More Heat Than Light, challenges traditional notions of portraiture, inviting viewers to see humanity in an entirely new spectrum—one shaped by energy and emotion rather than light alone.

A Fusion of Art and Science
In More Heat Than Light, Sam pushed the boundaries of photography by merging technology with creative vision. The use of thermographic techniques introduced a layer of abstraction, turning simple poses into vivid studies of movement and warmth. Every frame radiates a unique intensity, blurring the line between art and science. By reimagining his subjects as heat maps, Sam crafted a series that feels both futuristic and deeply human—a testament to his ability to innovate and redefine the limits of his craft.
